Ciao! 2012 Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200 NTX!

When you fall in love, all you see is the best attributes of whatever or whomever it is you’ve fallen for.

I fall in love with motorcycles regularly.  After stalking the 2012 Moto Guzzi Stelvio NTX since it was announced, I did the unthinkable and sent my trusty and beloved 2007 Honda GL1800A Gold Wing away.

Replacing the supremely capable Honda (which my BMW riding friends diplomatically called ‘BORING!’) is this new 2012 Moto Guzzi Stelvio NTX.

Things I love about the Stelvio NTX:  big V-twin heads sticking out of the chassis; it’s mechanically ‘dense’ look; matte black, ‘stealth bomber’/’Bat-Bike’ style; massive 32-litre fuel tank; and shaft-drive; big, 45mm upside-down forks, and plenty more.  Plus, it’s Italian!

Add to that the fact you don’t see Moto Guzzis on every corner.  You can’t say that about BMW R1200GSes.  To paraphrase the Chickenman radio series of the 1960s, “They’re everywhere!  They’re everywhere!”

More Moto Guzi Stelvio NTX impressions coming.  See you back here soon.
