A surprise gift from Moto Guzzi Canada

Yesterday, my Canada Post carrier delivered a nice little suprise package.

A letter from Moto Guzzi thanking me for my June purchase of a new, 2012 Moto Guzzi 1200 Stelvio NTX adventure-touring motorcycle (a standard procedure among virtually every vehicle manufacturer on the planet) included a surprise ‘gift’ – a one year membership in the Moto Guzzi Roadside Assistance Program provided through a third party enterprise, Road Canada.

Moto Guzzi’s owner assistance program covers 24-hours-a-day, 365 days-a-year bilingual service, towing for up to $200 per call, battery service/cold weather starting (a feature more appropriate for the typical automobile member), flat tire service, lockout service, fuel delivery (shame on me if I run the Stelvio’s 32-litre fuel tank dry, but this undoubtedly brings peace of mind), and extrication/winching service.

Guzzi’s roadside assistance program is a welcome (and unadvertised, as far as I can tell from the Moto Guzzi Canada website, and this was not mentioned by my Guzzi dealer when I bought the bike), surprise benefit of the recent purchase.  Ok, it’s not as good as the 3-year roadside assistance program that comes with every new BMW motorcycle, but it’s a good first step.

Kudos to Moto Guzzi Canada.
