Touratech’s Travel Time ‘magazine’ is a gussied up catalogue, but makes for terrific winter reading

Our good friend Wolfgang Simmert passed along the latest issue of Travel Time, Touratech’s glossy ‘magazine’ that’s a free insert in every Touratech order.

The English language magazine is really a gussied up catalaogue, but it’s much more than that.  At 116 pages, it’s fatter than just about any motorcycle magazine you can buy, and its production values are impressive.  High quality colour photographs, outstanding graphic design, and jammed with feature articles that will tickle the fancy of every adventure enduro motorcycle owner.

Touratech is a German company, long known for producing a line of motorcycle gear for adventure travel as well as street bikes.  Touratech is especially renown for their huge range of hard sided panniers.  I really like the magazine format, which is much more reader friendly than their imposing 2-in. thick, 1796 page catalogue that makes War and Peace look like a Sunday afternoon read.

The 2013/2014 edition of Travel Time we have includes feature stories on touring enduros (comparing the new BMW R1200GS, Ducati Multistrada 1200S, KTM 1190 Adventure, Triumph Tiger 1200 Explorer, and Yamaha XT1200Z Super Tenere, all fully-kitted with Touratech accessories); travel to Zimbabwe, South America and Greece; available equipment for the all-new Suzuki 1000 V-Strom; a technical article on semi-active suspensions; and a detailed look at the fabrication of the company’s aluminum panniers.

While Touratech Travel Time is only available with Touratech orders, you might be able to view a copy at your local Touratech dealer.  This is a fine publication that has a greater variety of feature ‘articles’ than any off the shelf motorcycle magazine available.  Try to get your hands on a copy.  It’s definitely worth the effort.
