Cure for helmet strap double d-ring hate?

IMG_0001 (7)My new this year HJC SyMax III flip-up helmet has been a good choice except for one thing.  I hate the double d-ring helmet strap.

For more than ten years, I’ve worn Italian-made Nolan flip-up helmets, interspersed with one pricey German Schuberth flip-up.

The Nolans and Schuberth all had the seatbelt-style chinstrap where you slip a metal tongue into a ratcheting receiver.  I like the speed of this style of helmet strap.  Unlike the double d-ring style in which one has to feed the strap through two rings.

After some research online, I found the Echo Quick Release Buckle.  Despite the many online complaints I found from dissatisfied users of this device (there were also posters who were happy with the product), I decided for the street price of $15.00 dollars, I could afford to try it out.

I bought this product at a local powersports dealership, which had them in stock in their accessories department.

Riding season is over, so we will report on the Echo Quick Release Buckle later.

HJC SyMax III's wretched double d-ring helmet strap. Too slow and fiddly for my liking

My preference is for the automotive seatbelt-style helmet strap fastening mechanism, which is fast and easy to use even with gloves
