The weirdest sh*t can happen when traveling, and it happens at the most unexpected times.

During our 9-day motorcycle tour of Tuscany, Italy, the key fob slipped out of my buddy Gary’s hand.  Somehow, the key fob fell between the instrument panel and gas tank, and mysteriously disappeared into the the depths of the Suzuki DL650 V-strom’s innards.

At first, I feared that the key had fallen into a place where it couldn’t be retrieved.  In this photo, fellow Albertans and riding friends, Denis R. and Robyn S. probe the V-strom’s guts hoping to glimpse the bike’s fallen ignition key.

After a a few minutes of mild panic, the key is spotted and Denis’ wife, Louise, squeezed her slender hand and grasped the wayward key, and all was well.

You never know what kind of weird stuff happens when you’re traveling.
