Massimino’s Cucina Italiano, Boston, MA

One of our favourite restaurants anywhere. Massimino’s family run Italian restaurant in Boston’s North End
We attended a recent family function in Boston, and the first thing Ingrid said when we got there was, “I want to eat at Massimino’s.”
We had dined at this family run Italian restaurant in Boston’s North End when we were last in Boston 5 years ago, and had one of the best seafood and Italian meals we’d ever had. This is one of my cousins’ favourite eateries, and they are bona fide ‘foodys.’
Ingrid ordered the Seafood Diablo, a monstrous seafood platter with lobster, scallops, shrimp, fish, and clams on a bed of fettuccine. Superb, and way too much food for one person. We ended up taking leftovers home in a doggy bag.
I ordered the Lobster Ravioli ($22.95) in a pink cream sauce. The oval ravioli (a shape I’d never seen before) came with sliced cherry tomatoes in the sauce, and the dish was rich and luscious.
Cousin Carole had the Piccata (18.95), veal scalloppini dipped in egg batter with a lemon wine sauce and capers.
Dinner was superb, just as we had expected.
Boston’s seafood was outstanding everywhere we went. Even our relative’s visitors from San Francisco remarked the seafood in Boston seemed superior to that on the West Coast.
